Madeleine heeft een fascinatie voor karakters. Het is interessant om een beeld te schieten dat iemand volledig omvangt, diens eigenheid benadrukt. Tegelijkertijd kan het ook een uitdaging zijn om een kenmerk van iemand te accentueren dat normaliter niet de nadruk heeft, waardoor iemand -soms m.b.v. styling en visagie- een volledig ander persoon lijkt, of misschien zelfs even wordt. Het is mooi om te zien hoe mensen zich gedragen en bewegen voor de camera, hen te zien en vast te leggen op beeld zoals ze zijn, willen zijn, zoals anderen hen zien of misschien zoals ze zelf willen worden.
Madeleine heeft in 2007 de kunstacademie Sint Joost in Breda met afstudeerrichting fotografie afgerond waarna zij direct Madeleine Sars Photography heeft opgericht. Ze wist meteen dat geen enkele andere baan haar gelukkiger zou kunnen maken dan een onafhankelijke freelance baan in de fotografie. Madeleine heeft een uitgebreid netwerk van modellen, visagisten, stylisten en ontwerpers. Zij houdt van de samenwerking met diverse ambitieuze vakmensen die in de breedste zin gelinkt zijn aan fotografie.
Naast fotografie heeft Madeleine een grote hartstocht voor reizen, zo besloot zij op haar 16e haar wereld uit te breiden en vertrok voor 3 maanden naar Australië waar ze onder andere Sydney en Fraser island bezocht. Tijdens haar fotografie studie bezocht zij enkele malen Turkije, waaronder Bursa en ze verbleef voor 1 maand in Istanbul om een fotografie project te doen over ‘jongeren in Istanbul’. Verder bezocht ze Jamaica en de foto's die zij daar maakte gebruikte zij onder meer in een project in haar afstudeerjaar. Na haar studie verbleef ze gedurende 2 maanden in Noord-Amerika waar ze vele steden bezocht, waaronder San Fransico & New York. Opvolgend bezocht ze onder andere Kaapstad in Zuid Afrika. Gedurende haar reizen ligt de nadruk juist niet op de toeristische routes maar brengt ze veel tijd door met ‘locals’ om haar nieuwsgierigheid naar mensen, hun cultuur en nationaliteit, gedachten, fascinaties, beweegredenen en grenzen te stillen.
Madeleine heeft van haar passie voor fotografie haar werk weten te maken en zij is nog altijd letterlijk en figuurlijk grenzeloos ambitieus.

Madeleine has a fascination for characters. It’s interesting to capture an image that fully catches the person and emphasizes their individuality. At the same time it can be a challenge to emphasize a persons feature that normally wouldn’t be accentuated so he or she -sometimes by using styling and make-up- looks like or sometimes even becomes a completely different person. It’s amazing to see how people act and move in front of a lens, to see and to capture them the way they are, the way they want to be, the way others see them or maybe even the way they want to become.
Madeleine graduated in 2007 at the St. Joost academy in Breda with a major in photography after which she immediately founded Madeleine Sars Photography. She knew clearly no other career could make her happier than an independent freelance job in photography.
Madeleine has an elaborate network of models, make-up artists, stylists and designers. She loves collaborating with various driven and ambitious professionals who are in its broadest sense linked to photography.
Next to photography Madeleine has a fascination for travelling, at the age of 16 she decided to broaden her horizon and left to Australia for 3 months where she visited Sydney and Fraser Island among others. During her photography study she visited Turkey several times, among which Bursa and she stayed in Istanbul for a month to do a photography project about ‘youngsters in Istanbul’. She also went to Jamaica, and the photos she took there were used for a project in her graduation year. After finishing her study she resided in North America for 2 months where she visited many different cities, among which San Francisco and New York. Subsequently she traveled to South Africa to visit Cape Town among others. During all these travels she explored beyond the touristy routes to spend a lot of time with the locals to satisfy her curiosity of people, their culture and nationality, thoughts, fascinations, motivations and boundaries.
Madeleine has been able to turn her passion for photography into her job and she is still literally and figuratively ambitious without boundaries.
